What is the Maker Space?

The brickLAB Maker Space is a hands-on building environment where guests can work with LEGO® in a more open and flexible way than at home. It features hundreds of thousands of organized LEGO® elements, dedicated building stations, and tools that support both structured and freeform building.

Visitors can rebuild existing LEGO® sets, design original creations, explore basic engineering and design concepts, or simply build for enjoyment. The space is designed to support a wide range of interests and skill levels, allowing each guest to choose how they want to engage.

There is no single way to use the Maker Space. Each visit can look different depending on what you choose to build and explore.

Explore the brickWALL

At the heart of the Maker Space is our signature brickWALL—hundreds of thousands of organized LEGO® elements sorted by part type.

Need a specific piece? Looking for inspiration? Want to experiment with different building techniques? The brickWALL gives you access to an incredible selection of parts that would be difficult or expensive to collect at home.

Simply sign in to the makerspace, choose the pieces you need, and start creating.

When Can You Build?

The brickLAB Maker Space is available during regular store hours whenever we are not hosting a camp or other program that requires use of the space. No reservation is required—just stop by and start building! Maker Space access is first come, first served and subject to available space.

During the summer and some holiday breaks, brickLAB camps are typically held on weekdays from 9 AM–4 PM, so the Maker Space may not be available during those times. Availability can also vary due to special events, classes, or other activities taking place in the space.

Planning a visit? We recommend giving us a quick call before you stop by to confirm that the Maker Space is available.

Make the Maker Space Part of Your Routine

Love building at brickLAB? A Membership makes it easy to come back, build more, and get even more out of your visits.

Whether you’re a frequent builder, a LEGO® enthusiast, a homeschool family, or just looking for a creative activity to enjoy together, our memberships are designed for guests who want to make the Maker Space a regular part of their routine.

Memberships

A brickLAB Membership is $49.95 per month and includes 10 hours of Maker Space access each month. Use your hours to build with our brickWALL, work on your own creations, explore new building ideas, or continue a project from a previous visit.

Membership also includes 10% off regular purchases in our store, camps, birthday parties, and select events. Whether you visit every week or simply want more flexibility to build throughout the month, membership gives you more opportunities to create while saving on many of the other experiences brickLAB has to offer.

Maker Space FAQs

Do I need to reserve a spot in the Maker Space?

No reservation is required! The Maker Space is first come, first served, so you’re welcome to stop by during available hours and start building. Space is subject to availability, so we recommend calling ahead if you’re planning a visit during a particularly busy time.

When is the Maker Space available?

The Maker Space is available during any non-camp store hours. During the summer and some holiday breaks, brickLAB camps are typically held on weekdays from 9 AM–4 PM, and the Maker Space may not be available during those times.

Because camp schedules can vary, we recommend calling the store before your visit to confirm Maker Space availability.

Can I drop my child off at the Maker Space?

No. The Maker Space and Memberships are not drop-off programs, and a parent or responsible adult must remain in the building while a child is using the Maker Space. However, we do allow limited drop-off for some older children on a case-by-case basis. Please see the store for details regarding drop-off eligibility and Maker Space guidelines.

If you’d like to relax while your child builds, we have a parent lounge located in the back of the store where you can hang out while they enjoy the Maker Space.

Looking for a drop-off option? brickLAB also offers camps, Young Engineers classes, and Parents Night Out, which are designed specifically as drop-off programs.

Can I take my creation home?

Yes—you can take home what you build. Items created from the brickWALL are purchased by weight at checkout. Build-a-sets may also be available for purchase using our standard pricing guidelines based on BrickLink sales history for that set; however, some sets may not be available.

Can adults use the Maker Space?

Absolutely! The Maker Space is for builders of all ages. Whether you’re building with your kids, working on your own creation, or just looking for a fun creative activity, adults are welcome to build too.
